Freebie Friday! Behold The Power Of The SAMPLE.

I thought it was so funny when the main character in one of those Janet Evanovich books said she was going to have the “FREE COSTCO LUNCH”.  She was talking about getting full on free samples!  So, I thought it would be fun to devote a post to free samples, to prove how they really do add up.

Grrrr. This is one of our workplace freezers, and somebody. Somebody STOLE MY LUNCH! C'mon people! Do you really feel the need to steal a frozen sandwich, when there's a vending machine next to it? If you need a dollar, I'd give it to you! Just don't steal my lunch! How high school! (PS: What's up with that Victoria's Secret bag in there?)

Speaking of warehouse clubs—I found a free one-day membership pass to SAM’S CLUB. http://www2.samsclub.com/smallbusiness/media/onedaymembership.pdf one’s good because there’s no additional tack on fee to your purchases.  (I’ve encountered several of these “one-day-passes” which have fine print like “10% surcharge applied to purchases.)This

In the age of technology—of course, the freebies are high-tech too.  They come right to your door!  Check back at the Wal-Mart site: http://instoresnow.walmart.com/In-Stores-Now-free-samples.aspx

Here you can get all kinds of freebies.  To date, I’ve gotten—

  1. Betty Crocker Warm Delights chocolate cake thing
  2. Crest toothpaste mini tube
  3. Crest Whitestrips Advance Seal
  4. Travel-sized Loreal shampoo and conditioner
  5. Orville Reddenbacher popcorn
  6. Quaker Rice Cakes

(Of course, I included my home and my work address…so this means two of each!  Woot!)

My pregnant producer friend Abbie LOVES these!

The grocery chain Kroger (don’t have one here, but I remember shopping at one when I lived in Cleveland) now offers freebies too.  Just sign up at this page: http://www.startsampling.com/retail/kroger/ (If there’s a sample you like at Wal-Mart’s site, and it’s at the Kroger one too…just get another one!)

One particular freebie free sample I highly recommend sending for…from Kellogg’s.  Take 15 seconds, fill out your info, and you get a free mini box of cereal, a cereal bar, and a packet of drink mix.  http://www.all-bran.com/?gclid=CN6Kz5KyupoCFRFWagodclkUcw#/current-offers

*Note* These freebies take awhile—usually 4-6 weeks.  Even so, I think it’s a fun surprise to open your mailbox and see a tidal wave of freebies come pouring out.  Still think it’s not worth it?  My friend Tyler is getting married out of town soon, and instead of buying travel –sized toiletries, I’m going to use my free samples!

PS:  Speaking of free samples and Wal-Mart…they’re doing a free ice cream day on May 30th. http://instoresnow.walmart.com/food-center-ice-cream.aspx check for your location here.  11-4pm and apparently, you can get a Dib’s snack pack, Blue Bunny frozen yogurt, or a 4oz. Ben and Jerry’s.  (I vote for B&J’s.)

PPS: Don’t forget!  Today at 11am CT, you can sign up for a free candy bar! www.realchocolate.com 🙂
