This morning, I field anchored from the BIGGEST Just Between Friends consignment sale to ever take place in the metro. For buyers, I’ve got tips on our news at 5pm tonight, and now some tips for SELLERS.
Susan says there’s two kinds of sellers. Those who sell just to get rid of used kids clothes and accessories…and those who make money. If you’re looking to make money:
Tip #1. Don’t be afraid your item won’t sell. Susan says there’s something for every and anybody. (Yes that means even the gently used BIB your son used is a treasure to someone.)
Tip #2. If you can, volunteer at the sale. At JBF sales, volunteers get an extra 5% profit from the sale. This is particularly good for those who sell a LOT of items like Susan.
Tip #3. Susan says don’t price your items under $3 or $4. After consignment fees, it’s simply not worth the work.
Tip #4. If your item doesn’t sell? You can either have it donated to charity at the end of the sale, or go to another JBF sale, and sell it there.
