100 Men In Aprons– Benefitting Gifted Hands August 31, 2009

This isn’t a deal, but wanted to share with you some photos from an event I took part in this past weekend.  The 100 Men in Aprons event benefits Gifted Hands, a non-profit that raises awareness for domestic violence and prevention for teen girls. 

This photo is of all the judges. Some of them are from local law firms, some are radio personalities. All of them were fun and hadn't eaten all day to prepare for the event!

They teamed with with the DeLaSalle Education Center and hosted this event at Penn Valley Community College where 100 men (actually about 70 or so!) cooked their signature dishes, and I was fortunate to be a judge.

Brian McRae and I were in charge of the meats category, and holy moly!  We sampled 14 different dishes (including BBQ ribs, beef stroganoff, curried chicken) and ultimately decided the deep fried turkey was our fave.
