FREE Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond Granola Bar!
July 30, 2009

Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond True Delight granola bar.  Sounds quite fancy, like a dessert at a 4-star restaurant.  Should you have your pinky up when eating it?

I'm a fan of their coconut macadamia nut True Delights...in fact they're yummy as a dessert. Haven't had this kind yet-- if you have let me know if it's good!

Time to grub,

Dion

(PS:  I say “time to grub”, because today all I ate was a banana.  I got called in early to fill in for our morning reporter, so I reported 5-7am and got back to the station literally 3 minutes before the 7-9am show started. I put on a microphone, fluffed the hair, ran to the set, and put my microphone on 5 SECONDS before the start of the show. Phew!  Talk about close call.)

30% off Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gap Coupon!
July 29, 2009

This one’s a crowd pleaser every year– The annual Friends and Family Give and Get coupon from the company that owns Banana Republic, Gap and Old Navy.

30% off your entire purchase (sale items too!) from July 30th- August 2nd. In additional 5% of your purchase goes to a good cause. (Lukemia and Lymphoma Society.)

I went to the Give and Get event last year, and it was a MOB scene at the Gap, there were so many people using the coupon. So be ready to face a healthy crowd.

Let me explain how this works.  Usually you have to be given a coupon by a Gap/BR/ON employee, or a friend.

The link is for *my* invitation, which should work for all of you.  You can either ask an employee at your local Gap/BR/Old Navy for a coupon/invitation, or you can use mine.  Shh, it’ll be our little secret. 🙂

Try this too: http://www.gapgiveandget.com/ I gotta run out the door on a story, so you’ll have to do some digging.

As always,  *CALL AHEAD* to your store and get details, and see if you can score your invite/coupon.  Cheers and Best,

Dion (and her Deals) 🙂

Free Copies of The Lorax (Activity Book) by Dr. Seuss!
July 28, 2009

I was once a reporter in Springfield, Massachusetts, where Dr. Seuss was born. There's even a Dr. S museum there, along with the Basketball Hall of Fame. Who knew, right?

I just found this deal, courtesy of EnergyStar: https://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=publications.showPublications

Scroll down and you can get up to 10-copies of The Lorax by Dr. Seuss for free!  I just called the EnergyStar hotline, and they tell me you don’t even have to pay for shipping.  No-strings.  If you still have questions: hotline@energystar.gov or call 1-888-782-7937

Enjoy!

*UPDATE*

People have been asking me why it’s only a 6-page Lorax activity book, and where the full book is.  EnergyStar confirmed with me yesterday the full book is what you get when you place an order with them and up to 10 copies will be sent to your home.  However, when I called today, another representative told me it is indeed an activity book.  Still nice, but it would have been nice if the person I spoke with yesterday gave me the *correct* information!  (Hence why calling ahead to double check is always a good idea.)
